America's Most Wasted
The introduction wall gives a brief overview of America’s most wasted fruits and veggies. A brief bio and set of reminders that relates to the actual buying and storing process personified each fruit or veggie.
Once we found our topic, we brainstormed ways our exhibition could educate the public. What did we want to share? What would attract them to come listen? What were interactive ways to engage different age groups and backgrounds?
Pike & 1st
Once we knew what our exhibition would be. We had to think of a location. We chose to place our exhibition on the corner of Pike Place Market to educate locals, vendors, and visitors to our tips and takeaways about saving, preserving, and wasting less produce. This busy market was a great location for reaching a unique and diverse audience.
Our exhibition starts with the Fruit Wall of Fate. Then we introduce our main cast of fruits and veggies which leads to our interactive kitchen where they can discover more tips on how to waste less produce.
The Fruit Wall of Fate
The exterior fruit and veggie wall features every Lives and Deaths characters, including our supporting cast. Visitors can approach the wall and move each character panel to see their fate. The fact that one out of every three fruits and veggies are wasted is made clear through this interactive wall.
